Together we make a profound difference

The Masons of California believe that a person who strives to improve himself can also improve his community and the world at large. To help future generations achieve this goal, the California Masonic Foundation and other Masonic-affiliated organizations award more than $1 million in scholarships to students every year. Scholarships awarded by the California Masonic Foundation have enabled thousands of students to attend college.

Investment in Success

The Investment in Success scholarship program gives high school seniors who demonstrate an active pursuit of education in spite of hardships an opportunity to attain a higher education.

Although these students may not fit the traditional profile of a high academic performer, they have overcome significant obstacles to achieve their goals, demonstrating extraordinary potential and strength of character. To be eligible for an Investment in Success scholarship, students must be nominated through one of the California Masonic Foundation's educational partnerships; no direct applications are accepted.

C.E. Towne Scholarship Fund/Masonic Youth Leadership Scholarship

The C.E. Towne Scholarship Fund was established by Rita B. Kusch in honor of her husband Charles Edward Towne. The Kusch family was very active with the Masons and Eastern Star. They shared a passion to encourage and support children in their pursuit of higher education. Mrs. Kusch's generous support in creating the scholarship fund has provided hundreds of students with access to a higher education and helped prepare them for successful careers.

The Masonic Youth Leadership Scholarship will focus on a particular segment of the talented, dedicated and deserving members of these Youth Orders - their state and regional leaders. These leaders include the Rainbow Grand Assembly Officers, Job's Daughters Grand Bethel Officers, and the DeMolay jurisdiction, division, and league officers. There are approximately 100 such youth leaders in any given year. They dedicate many hours to their Youth Order, sometimes at the sacrifice of their grades. They are often very good students, but might not have the grade point average to qualify for most scholarships. Their personal financial commitment required to be a state or regional youth leader is sometimes significant and many even have to work additional jobs to afford it. In honor and recognition of their hard work and commitment, we are proud to offer this scholarship program specifically for them.
